Today is Shrove Tuesday. This morning we burnt last year's palms into ash so that Father Keane can use them on Ash Wednesday when he makes the Sign of the Cross on our foreheads and reminds us to follow Jesus.
After swimming, Olivina, from Tonga, came to say thank you St Paul's Catholic School for the donations. In Tonga, people raise pigs to eat them for food and sell them for money so they can buy school uniforms and buy school books and school fees so that they can go to school. People in Tonga also cut down mulberry trees so that they can weave them into tapa cloth.
