Vomo Island

It was a warm sunny day we were nearly at the Island called Vomo Island. I was so excited to see my cousins because I hadn’t seen them in ages.
As we approached Vomo Island, we slowed down the shimmering and sparkling water spread all around the boat and lapped against the sparkling sand. “It looks so pretty.” I told Mum.
After that, we had to walk a little way to get to the van. The van was grey with a red stripe going down the middle of it. We all piled in and, when we were all buckled up, the driver of the van started it up. While I was waiting, I looked out the window and I saw huge trees surrounded by bushes, covered in beautiful flowers of all colours.
When the van stopped and we were out of it, there were quite a lot of people all singing a welcome song in their own language. All of them welcomed us and gave us some different coloured fruit drinks. Our cousins and our aunty and uncle, who had also been singing the welcome song, welcomed us with big hugs, I told them “It’s so good to see you again.”
Samantha gave me a little pink alarm clock and a different coloured bracelet that she had made for me herself. I was very pleased. I gave her a necklace that I had made myself and she smiled at me so I smiled at her. I was as happy as a honey bee with enough honey to last a lifetime.
